Temple ov Eshmun "Astrate / Ydll" Pro-tape

The debut release from another mysterious entity from the ever fertile australian lands. To be released on cassette format via Atrocity Altar, Temple ov Eshmun is a rather welcomed experiment on the label's roster. Featuring only two monolithic tracks, this demo clocks at close to 30 minutes in length and it's a total sensorial and crushing journey. The first track, not so unfamiliar to past Atrocity Altar releases, is a bleak and droney Ritual Ambient track, setting the tone for the overwhelming guitars of the second track. Because "Ydll - Sanctity Ov Awali" is a monolith of Black/Doom, brimming with crushing guitars and astral leads that bring so much of the atmosphere of the beautiful cover art into sound. Inevitable are the comparisons with other australian giants such as Disembowelment or Elysian Blaze, however the epic presence of the beautiful synths definitely brings the tone into more familiar Atrocity Altar ground, or even some reminiscence with Bosque or Candelabrum.
